About CFFC

Jonathan Craft, a Huntsville, AL native, founded Craft Fly Fishing Company (CFFC) to serve anglers in North Alabama. A lifelong passion for fishing led Jonathan into a decade of Marine Biology (B.Sc. from Auburn University; M.S. from The College of Charleston) that was followed by a decade in Fishing Retail. Jonathan is a longtime member of the Tennessee Valley Fly Fishers and is an active volunteer with the veterans’ group Project Healing Water Fly Fishing. After serving six years as a Fly Fishing expert at Orvis in Huntsville, AL (Fishing Manger 2024-2025), CFFC was created to facilitate Fly Fishing education in Northern Alabama. Alabama has the highest number of freshwater fishes of any state in the USA. Alabama might be “Trout Poor”, but we are “Bass Rich”! These fishes live in the most beautiful places in Alabama. CFFC primarily operates on the Flint River, the Paint Rock River, and the Little River; however, our services can be tailored to your fishing goals. CFFC primarily targets native fish species, yet the skills you will learn can prepare you for fly fishing trips outside of Alabama, even in trout county. CFFC is here to help anglers: 1) develop fly fishing skills, 2) introduce them to Alabama’s fishes, and 3) gain a deeper appreciation for Alabama’s waterways. Go Fly Fish Alabama!
